
School Safety & Security Committee
Membership
In accordance with SB11, the expansive school safety bill passed during the 86th Legislative Session, a school district is required to include certain members of its School Safety & Security Committee. Texas Education Code §37.109 sets out the required makeup of the Committee. In addition to the Superintendent, Board President, and one other Board member, the Committee must also include: one or more representatives from the office of emergency management; one or more representatives of a local police agency; one or more representatives of the District's police department; two additional Superintendent designees, one of which must be a classroom teacher; and two parents of students enrolled in the District.
