History & Namesake

Neil Armstrong

Armstrong Elementary opened for the 1969-1970 school year and is located in Conroe, Texas. Mr. Albert Moorhead thought the new round school should be named after the astronaut, Neil A. Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon, after he made the historic footstep on the moon on July 20, 1969.

Armstrong Elementary aims to provide a safe, welcoming, and high-quality education for all students, fostering academic excellence and preparing them to become confident, responsible, and lifelong learners.
