History & Namesake

Lucille J. Bradley

Lucille J. Bradley Elementary opened in 2017 and is located in the Falls of Imperial Oaks neighborhood of Spring, Texas. Bradley Elementary is in the Grand Oaks Feeder.

The school is named for Lucille J. Bradley who lived in Conroe for more than 90 years and taught second grade in Conroe ISD for thirty years. She attended school in the 1920's and 30's at Conroe College, which was an elementary to college level school that served the black population. She was one of two women to receive a lifetime achievement award at Washington Junior High, after the annual Black History Parade. Her kind heart and compassion impacted many lives in the community.

Mrs. Bradley passed away on January 12, 2014, at the age of 100.
