History & Namesake

Mr. Roger L. Galatas

Galatas Elementary opened in 1994 in the Cochran's Crossing Village of The Woodlands, Texas. Our school was named in honor of Roger L. Glatas, who was a member and past president of the Board of Trustees for the Conroe Independent School District. He was also a past president of the North Harris Montgomery Community College District Foundation and was actively involved with the United Way campaign and the Boy Scouts of America organization. Mr. Galatas was a long-time resident of The Woodlands and participated in many activities at his namesake, Galatas Elementary.
