History & Namesake

Don Stockton in front of the school named after him, Donald J. Stockton Junior High School.

Stockton Junior High School, part of Conroe Independent School District (CISD), opened its doors on August 12, 2021, to serve the growing community of Conroe, Texas. The school is named in honor of Dr. Donald L. Stockton, who dedicated 36 years to CISD, including 18 years as superintendent. His leadership was marked by a commitment to academic excellence, student success, and the district’s expansion. The school’s establishment reflects the district’s ongoing efforts to accommodate its increasing student population while providing a modern learning environment. Stockton Junior High stands as a tribute to Dr. Stockton’s lasting impact on education and the Conroe community.

Attendance Procedures

Verification of Enrollment (VOE) Information & Requests

ALL VOE REQUESTS MUST GO THROUGH THE ATTENDANCE OFFICE

To obtain a driver’s license in the state of Texas, a student between the ages of 15 and 18 must provide, to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a verification of enrollment (VOE) form obtained from the school verifying that the student has met the 90 percent attendance requirement for the semester preceding the date of application. This VOE is used for the DPS to obtain a driver’s license or learner’s permit ONLY.  If you need a Verification for the Attorney General, the Social Security office, or any other governmental agency, please contact our Registrar by email to request this different document

  • Students may request this VOE form from the Attendance Office (Room 1202).

  • Requests are typically processed within 24 – 48 hours and picked up at the attendance office.

  • All library and any other school fees for the student must be paid in full before obtaining this form.

  • Students should remember that buildings are closed during spring and winter break as well as holidays and should plan accordingly.

  • Any VOE issued during the school year (traditional, year round, etc.) expires 30 days after issuance. Any VOE issued the last 5 days of the school year will expire the first day of the following school year.

Please note: The school will provide the VOE form. VOEs cannot be emailed or faxed.

Please complete the enrollment process with Conroe ISD:

Please contact the registrar at 936709-4510, once online enrollment forms have been completed. Click on the CISD Enrollment & Transfers link below and follow the links to begin process.

Required Documents:
-Original birth certificate
-Original social security card (copies are not accepted)
-Proof of immunizations (must be up to date)
-Proof of residency (utility bill or lease ONLY in parent/guardians name, otherwise a notarized affidavit in bill holder’s name is required
-Last report card (proof of promotion is required)

If you have moved you must provide the Registrar with a new utility bill ( water, electric, landline) or a valid signed lease in order for your address to be changed. Students are not allowed to ride the bus until the address has been changed.
You may fax the new proof to 936.709.4599 or scan and e-mail it to Evelyn Garcia evegarcia@conroeisd.net.
Be sure to write your child’s name on the proof. Once the proof has been received, you may fill out a new bus registration form for your child to give the new bus driver.

Change of Address

If you change your address and/or work, home, cell numbers or email address, please notify the school registrar in writing as soon as possible.

In order to change a student’s address, you must bring proof of residence to the registrar’s office. If your child rides the bus, they are not allowed to ride the new bus until the address has been changed on campus. Parents will need to contact CISD transportation to register for the new bus.
This can take up to 48 hours.

Withdrawals

If your student will be attending a new school, your student must first be withdrawn from SJHS. Before moving and enrolling in a different school, please contact the Registration Office to begin the paperwork necessary to withdraw your student from SJHS.

MUST DO BEFORE WITHDRAWING:

  • Have the student return any library books, textbooks, or other school property

  • Pay any outstanding school fees by logging into your school cash online account

Information needed TO WITHDRAW:

  • Student’s name

  • School ID number

  • Last date attending GOHS

  • The name and location of the school the student is transferring to

Email the information to evegarcia@conroeisd.net. Please include a copy of the Parent/Guardian ID.

To withdraw in person:

Make an appointment to sign the withdrawal forms and receive copies of school records to transfer to the new school.

To withdraw remotely

Email the above information to the Registrar, Gay Bolen, at evegarcia@conroeisd.net and she will send you the forms for signature. Sign, scan and email those back to her to process the withdrawal.
