Federal Programs, Compliance and Grants

The Conroe ISD Federal Programs, Compliance and Grants Department ensures compliance with federal funding requirements and manages grants and programs that support student success. This includes overseeing grants like Title I, Part A, which provides additional resources for economically disadvantaged students, and Title II, Part A, which funds professional development for educators.

The department also assists with initiatives for English learners, migrant students, and special education programs, ensuring equitable access to high-quality education. By coordinating budgets, managing grant applications and reporting, monitoring program effectiveness, and ensuring adherence to federal guidelines, the department plays a critical role in enhancing educational opportunities for all students.

Parent and Family Engagement

Parent and family engagement under Title I, Part A ensures schools and families work together to support student success. Schools involve parents in policies, school-family compacts, and activities that help families support learning and participate in school decision-making. The goal is to build strong partnerships that improve academic outcomes. While Conroe ISD believes that parent and family engagement is a best practice for all campuses, Federal Programs specifically supports Title I schools under the Title I, Part A umbrella, ensuring that these schools receive targeted assistance to foster meaningful collaboration between families and schools.

Private Non-Profit Schools

A Private Non-Profit (PNP) school is a privately operated educational institution that is non-profit in nature, meaning it does not distribute profits to owners or shareholders but reinvests them in its mission and operations.

In Texas, PNP schools can partner with public school districts to provide federally funded services to eligible students, teachers, and families under programs like Title I, Title II, and others. Conroe Independent School District (CISD) is one such district that partners with PNPs to ensure equitable access to these services. These partnerships require meaningful consultation between the district and PNP representatives to identify needs, plan services, and ensure compliance with federal regulations. The goal is to promote educational equity by offering resources such as professional development, instructional support, and academic interventions tailored to PNP school communities.

Solicitation for the upcoming school year will begin in the spring.
